Who we are: Solectria Owner Support (SOS) is a online support community for owners of electric vehicles and EV components manufactured and distributed by Solectria Corporation of Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA. If you aren't sure whether this is the place for you, please have a look at our archive.
Ground rules: Follow the Fidonet Principles:
Thou shalt not be too annoying.
Thou shalt not be too easily annoyed.
We're all friends here. Be nice. Keep it clean and civil. Don't spam. Don't forget that anything you post goes out to all our members and gets stored in our archive for the world to read. If you wouldn't say it in front of your boss or your family, don't say it here.
Subscribing:
Go here and follow the instructions in the SUBSCRIBE section.
Suggestions:
Use an email account that you check often.
Don't use the mailnames "list" or "lists" (for example, lists@bogusmail.net). They trigger a bug in the list software.
Don't use an Earthlink address unless you plan to lurk forever. Our server doesn't reject Earthlink mail, the mail just never arrives at the server. Earthlink says it's not their fault <shrug>.
Once I've approved your subscription, which usually takes between 8 and 36 hours, you'll receive a welcome message. If you don't, check your spam folder.
The welcome message will have a password. You'll need it to tweak your subscription (set/unset digest mode, suspend/resume mail, other fun stuff). You probably won't save it. No worries; you can get a password reminder at your Member Options Page.
Unsubscribing:
By request: Contact me at and I'll unsubscribe you manually.
On the web:
Visit the subscription page.
In the UNSUBSCRIBE section, enter the email address you use for the list and click .
Ignore the member options page which appears next.
Check your email for a confirmation message. The confirmation keeps other people from unsubscribing you without your permission. If you don't receive it within 10-15 minutes, check your spam folder. You can then:
- Reply to the message, leaving the headers (To, From, Subject, and Reply-to) unchanged. You should soon receive a message confirming that you've been unsubscribed. OR,
- Visit the link in the confirmation message with your web browser. Depending on how your email works, the link may be split over 2 lines, in which case you'll have to copy and paste it together in your browser's URL bar. You'll then see a page with and . You'll know what to do.
By email: Send a message to solectria-request@lists.evdl.org. Either the subject or the body of the message should contain the word
unsubscribe
Don't put anything else in your message, or you'll confuse the list software. Be careful not to send your message to the posting address.
The list software will send you an email message to confirm that you really want to unsubscribe, in case some annoying troll has tried to unsubscribe you. Just reply to it without changing any of the headers (To, From, Subject, or Reply-to).
Posting: Post a message to the list by sending it to solectria@lists.evdl.org. Don't worry if you don't see it cross the list for a few minutes, or even hours. We share the listserver with other organizations, and it can be slow when it's working hard.
Disabling email: If you go on vacation, please don't set your auto-responder unless you also temporarily disable list email. That way the rest of us won't have to watch your responder responding to itself.
You can disable or enable the list's mail service on the web or by email.
On the web: Go to your member options page. You received the password for this page in your welcome message from the list. You did save that message, didn't you? If not, you can get a password reminder there.
By email: send a message to solectria-request@lists.evdl.org. Either the subject or the body of the message should contain the phrase
set delivery off
set delivery on
Don't put anything else in your message, or you'll confuse the list software. Be careful not to send your message to the posting address.
